LAKE ONTARIO FISHING SPECTACULAR

Salmon were biting and so were the Rainbow! 8 fish landed with three teasers who refused the hook.
Three different lures were effective!  9  foot long rods. A couple  of  depth control methods were used including "down riggers" and "dipsy divers".
A highlight was  when two fish were caught at the same time!!
Lures:
Williams Spoon , blue and silver
Salmon Fly in green glow-in-the-dark hook dressing  with red beads clip-on (alewife) cut bait.
They were caught as far back as 240 feet. at 70 to 80 feet in depths over 110 feet.
We were several miles off the Scarborough Bluffs in sight of the "Green Pussy" landmark.
The first salmon in this selection of photos is a 30 pounder caught the previous night bt First Mate Rick.
It was an amazing salmon! With a nasty set of teeth.
Biggest salmon was weighed at 23 pounds and a length 35 inches.
Largest fighting rainbow (steelhead) was 25 inches One salmon had a scar on it's side from a lamprey eel
The highlight was a spectacular salmon Pete was fighting, It took out 600 feet of line. Then it crossed another line and finally after 15 minutes it showed it was tiring with a the lure hook stuck in the top of it's back!
What disappointment for Captain Pete. He first thought it was a giant salmon of over 30 pounds.
