Muskie Themed Chair ready for Muskie fishing season

This is the small carving at the top of the chair back. A 10inch/ 26 cm long muskie complete with tiny teeth.
The seat of the chair has a painted pattern, like a "muskie" seat cover.
Back view with Giant Water Splash!
The sides of the chair feature an assortment of fishing lures and a single strand of Water weed which is usually found in areas muskies swim.

Morning Reflection painting

ARTWORK COPYRIGHT Charles Weiss 2012
This is a new acrylic painting on canvas. It's titled "Morning Reflection".
I tried to express the morning sun reflecting on the calm waters. I hope the viewer of the painting would want
to enjoy the water on a summer day.Perhaps there is a fishing rod in the central boathouse that would be handy to cast a ripplein the serene scene.

My hand crafted fishing lures for 2012

The little sunfish colour really pops out of the water when retrieved in the walk-the-dog .
These are carved out of cedar, they are a floating "walk the dog" style lure.  6 inches and 7 inches in length.
The design was inspired from a lure "Lunker Punker" I saw in the 2012 In-Fisherman Pike and Muskie magazine.

I've added a few  photos of the painted.Pike punker " stick bait lures.
I removed the spinner blades at the end of the lure. The "shad" colour lure is 6. inches long. I took a photo of  underwater to show how much the tail section hangs down .. The "Yellow Perch" coloured lure is 7.25inches in length. They have a hopping action during the "walk-the-dog" retrieve.

ARTWORK COPYRIGHT Charles Weiss 2012
This is my caricature portrait of the new Thomas Mulclair NDP LEADER. This was created with a graphite pencil and hi-tecpoint V7 RT pen in my sketchbook.. I thought it would be a challenge to draw  a portrait with a vibrant snarling attitude!
