new muskie painting

ARTWORK COPYRIGHT Charles Weiss 2012

The "shaman" colour of lure was brought to my attention from Dave of Bare Bones Baits. He was commenting on it's muskie catching appeal. I couldn't resist creating a painting of a muskie about to bite a mouthful of "Shaman" coloured crankbait. I think this is a ten inch long "jake" crankbait.
The scene I'm trying to create is an underwater weedline edge. The lure has been cast or trolled along this edge. A dramatic moment with a sudden burst of speed. The large muskie has bit the lure as it was racing by.
