Exciting Nova Scotia June 2015 fishing
|
|
16 inches smallmouth bronze back bass and 18 inches of chainsaw pickerel finned fury!
underwater fight!
skid stik on the jaw of the watery beast!
close up chain markings!
Finally the fish is in hand!
Green hair adds to my luck when fishing!
16 inches of shore caught smallmouth bass, 4 inch skid stik was the surface lure it struck.
Diane with another shore caught smallie. High water in the Nova Scotia lake. All the fish were near the edge of the shore .Sometimes a bass would leap after the surface lure, that was exciting.
The area where the fish were caught!
14 inch chain pickerel had a 7 inch long in it's stomach. They were good eating, a few small "y" bones were in the meat.

Double Blade Muskie Freak Out acrylic painting progress
I start with a wash of watered down acrylic paint . Hue of blue at the top fading to three quarters of the canvas a orange. I then draw the shape of the leaping fish.
More details are painted of the fish and a double blade lure is added . Also more blue and splash shapes are painted around the fish shape.
I add more water detail including a shape of a princecraft boat.
Splash details are added to the fish. More accurate detail is added to the boat. I've painted a distant shoreline in the background.
Finished detail of the completed painting. I tried to express the dynamic action of the fish leaping and the moment in time when the water plashing forcefully

new zany drawing and crappie wood carvings
My zany drawing of a creature of "the Black Lagoon" realeasing a large muskie fish it just caught.
From my sketchbook created with pen and ink and coloured pencil crayon.
Wood carvings of black crappie . The body is carved seperately and the fins are added. Painted with a acrylic. Lake of the Woods black crappie is the reference for the colouration pattern.
